States Differ In Gambling Policies
On a national level, the future of online casinos within the United States still hangs dramatically in the balance. Rep. Barney Frank has been doing his very best to bring about policy change in terms of appealing the UIGEA and bringing in a replacement bill that aims to regulate and legalize and license online casino gambling. Although Barney Frank has finally heard at his bill heard in Congress, the process is still very, very slow. On the other hand, many individual states have taken it upon themselves to come up with their own solutions for liberalizing and adopting some progressive policies when it comes to Internet casino gambling.
With the industry of online casinos and gambling such a controversial topic for so many people, it should not come as a great surprise that two states have almost opposite views when it comes to what should happen with the future of the Internet gambling industry. The state of New Hampshire has been facing difficult financial times for quite a while and that has been worsened and exacerbated by the fact that the state lottery revenue has dropped by 10%.
Their plan to climb out of this debacle is to begin and online scene now to help generate revenue. On the other end of the spectrum is North Carolina where Senators have gone so far as to ban Internet cafés that offer certain forms of online gambling activity. He will be adjusting to see who wins out over all when everything is said and done. Which direction will our nation head when it comes to developing policies for Internet gambling?
