Quebec Man Wins Top Prize

It may not have been Benjamin LaBlond’s top goal as he entered into the Canadian Open Poker Championship but he sure succeeded in all but shaming some of the top professional casino and poker players in the industry. This is no small accomplishment for a relative newcomer to the online casino and poker competition realm. Although LaBlond was facing down some of top names in the casino and poker business. He showed no fear as he went for the glory and conquered the likes of Jeff Madsen, Brad Booth and Phil Hellmuth. Many fans of online casinos would wager a substantial portion of their lifesavings just to get a glimpse into the wondrous splendor of how it must feel to beat out some of the most skilled players in the land. This sort of accomplishment cannot be over-appreciated. What LaBlond did that was so miraculous was that he came from behind during games tow and three and ended up shutting down Madsen, a World Series of Poker bracelet winner, in a best of three head-to-head match-up final. This was some nail-biting competition that everyone in the casino world was sure that it would go in a different way.

LaBlond has, like most amateur poker and casino players, gotten his start through playing at his own personal computer in the privacy of his own home. And obviously, his confidence as a player has grown immensely after this impressive win. He said it was quite a different sensation to be going up against real people in person instead of going up against players in the online scene. Madsen was still able to finish up in second place and left the scene with a respectable $50,000. That is pretty good considering that he almost wasn’t even going to compete in the first place.
