Organizations Reject UIGEA Feasibility

While the future of online casinos within the United States of America hangs in the balance, it seems that many important organizations are voicing their concern about the looming implementation of the UIGEA. Online casino operators and players are not the only ones that are concerned with this pending development. Now it seems that the vice president of the American bankers Association has indicated that this gambling law will not do any good in terms of being able to prevent transactions for Internet casino operations.

Attempting to ban online casino gambling will only bring about high costs and troubles some rulings in the court system. Banks have the power to stop payment by credit and debit cards to online casinos but only if those establishments are clearly identified. Some Internet casino gambling operations may attempt to disguise their sales identifications and this would make it incredibly difficult to regulate or determine the true identification of these businesses.

While the UIGEA is supposed to function as a Texan balances system so that American gamblers are not able to fully participate in Internet gambling activity, everyone has determined that it is an utter failure in terms of a piece of legislation and that it will be super ineffective and incredibly difficult if not impossible to enforce when everything is said and done.

While Representatives Barney Frank and Jim McDermott have been bringing bills that would do away with the UIGEA, they have yet to have their day in Congress to be heard. Hopefully there can be some progress on this front in the near future so that we will not have to rely on the UIGEA any longer.
