Internet Casinos Earn AGA Approval

There have been some major developments recently in terms of the future for online casinos within the United States. While the push to have online casino sites fully regulated and licensed and taxed in America has come a pond some major obstacles, there are also some positive gains that have been made as well. For example, most recently the American Gaming Association came out in support of the regulation of Internet casino operations. They have claimed that due to the cutting-edge advancements in technology, there are sufficient systems and programs in place to allow for proper low regulation of Internet casino gambling over serving the interests of land-based gambling and contacting consumers as well. This is a major coup for the progress of Internet casino regulation.

Representatives Barney Frank and Jim McDermott have come out with bills that aim to nullify all of the efforts that the UIGEA has tried to accomplish and instead create a logical and super and forcible and effective method for legalization and regulation of online casinos. The main point that the American Gaming Association has emphasized is that they can have a favorable stance when it comes to expanding and broadening laws for Internet gambling so long as there is a strong presence of regulatory control.

This is the key that on which their support hinges. Although the organization has not gone so far as to endorse any specific bills that are pending in Congress, this serves as a big thumbs-up and will hopefully create a decent level of momentum to push the effort in Congress forward. Hopefully this will serve to legitimize and bring positive attention to Frank and McDermott’s efforts.
