HR 2267 Casino Bill Advances
Things are finally beginning to move forward or Rep. Barney Frank’s bill, HR 2267. It was recently heard by the House financial services committee on Wednesday, July 21. This is a major development for the future of online casinos within the United States of America. After battling for a number of years to try to get a bill pushed through Congress that would effectively repeal the UIGEA and bring about some effective regulation and legalization for online casino gambling activity in America, things may be finally coming together.
It is taken great deal of hope and optimism on the part of all concerned parties for the gambling industry. Now, many people are hoping to speculate that the bill will get scheduled for markup and vote sometime during the month of August 2010. On the other side of that coin, then negative Nancy’s feels that the markup on HR 2267 will only come after the midterm elections that are scheduled to be held during the month of November. But now, things are moving along at a rapid pace, faster than anyone could have hoped.
This could be a major development for the online casino gambling in America in the years and weeks to come. It is no secret that Internet gambling in a legalized form would bring in a great deal of revenue to American businesses and the general national economy. After suffering through bleak and seemingly endless economic recession, this could definitely come as a welcome change that could boost the nation it to some sort of viable financial recovery. It may be too soon to hold onto such a great deal of hope in this scenario, but what have we got to lose at this point?
