EC Finds Problems In Danish Casino Law
The European Commission is definitely sharpening its claws in a variety of ways these days. With so many different countries within the European Union attempting to redraw their regulations and laws for online casinos, there are bound to be a few hiccups here and there along the road. Well, the latest debacle, it seems, concerns the nation of Denmark. Apparently the European Commission has let the Danes have one solid month worth of time to come up with a proper and acceptable drafted law that would aim at regulating their online casino and betting industry to be in direct compliance with European Commission law.
This has become one of the talking points for the past several months as many different nations across the region of Europe struggle with just how to go about getting everything they want for their online casinos while also avoiding any sort of violations within the requirements for trade agreements established by the European Commission. It is almost a tightrope walk for some governments. The Danish government, as it stands, has until the 9th of November to retool their original efforts at casino regulation.
If the Danish government were to disregard the opinion that the EC has put in place in regard to their current proposal, the European Commission would not take that sort of action lightly. Many of the different provisions within the casino regulation proposal brought forward by the Danes are in direct conflict with the laws that the European Commission adheres to. This leaves little wiggle room for nations that want to press their luck and try to get away with some sort of pseudo-monopoly. The EC is not going to let it slide in any situation.
