Champion Poker Player Pinned For Scandal

Every now and then there is some sort of scandalous incident that brings some major drama into the world of online casinos. Just recently it happened to revolve around a cheating incident at Ultimate Bet, one of the top online casino poker rooms in the business. Recently the Kahnamwake Gaming Commission managed to wrap up their official investigation into this incident and the results from their query have been released to the general public. Apparently the report, which was created by the casino gambling regulators, ended up being fined $1.5 million.

The company responsible for paying those funds in addition to paying out for restitution of more than $22 million to casino players involved in the scandal is Tokowiro, the owner of the longstanding betting site Ultimate Bet. The players who were the victims in this scenario are going to receive some compensation for their hardships since their poker wins were apparently involved in some hands that were not on the level.

This is the sort of thing that can really damage the industry of online casinos – not just for the actual gaming site that was actually involved, but on a market-wide scale. Hopefully that will not come to pass since the economic recession has already put the casino gambling industry through the ringer in most respects.

It seems that a former champion named Russ Hamilton has been denounced as the individual who is directly responsible for making the shady dealings happen. Some internet provider addressed have also been linked to his undertakings so who knows what will come of that piece of information. All told, more than 31 different casino gamers have been named as possible suspects in this case.
